NOVA SCOTIA THE TRUTH

she/her

Nova Scotia is a sample-based production and performance project, a way to seek emotional and audible truth through music and live sets, a way to manipulate samples to create an experience. A marriage of grime, electronic and acapella. The debut EP, AL-HAQQ, was released in April 2018.

Nova is a rap vocal project, a way to vent frustrations, boast achievements and express wants for the future. Over selected beats of a grime, bass and hip-hop nature, Nova's debut release, Risin' Up mixtape, featuring singer Theta, is out now on all major platforms. The tape is made up of nine tracks, three originals produced by Demonize, Mumbla and Nova Scotia out now on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music plus six remixes out now on SoundCloud and Bandcamp, with lyrical content covering race, gender, class and the struggles that exist within these identity politics.

DJ Scotia is about sharing music that excites and inspires. It’s about looking into the past and looking into the future and merging different sounds to create a continuous mix. Blending genres and following instincts but favouring a dark, bass-heavy atmosphere.
